The Alhambra Thalasspa stands in a very peaceful area of the tourist district of Yasmine Hammamet, one of Hammamet's principal districts, which abounds in hotel complexes, shops as far as the eye can see, restaurants and leisure centres. More precisely, the nearest attractions are: the beach 200 metres away, the medina of Yasmine Hammamet and La Marina harbour a little over a mile away, the bus stop for the town centre half a mile away, the historic centre of Hammamet at 7 and a half miles, the casino half a mile away and Yasmine and Citrus golf courses (respectively 27 and 45 holes) 5 and a half miles away. The airports closest to the hotel are those of Tunis (40 mi) and Monastir (53 mi).
The beach is a 15 minute walk away but if you don't feel like walking, a small train (a carriage of 6-passengers maximum) will take you to it. The decoration and atmosphere are very pleasant - the colours and architectural features match those of Arabic buildings (linked to modern and functional elements), a delicious smell of jasmine is present throughout the hotel and to make it complete, the common areas bear the names of places such as Seville, Marbella and Gibraltar. In winter, most guests opt for half-board accommodation, whereas full board is usually more popular in summer. This hotel has no all-inclusive option. Free wireless internet access is available in the hall and its bar.
Golfing enthusiasts are loyal guests of the Alhambra Thalasspa. Indeed, the hotel has a free shuttle to the nearest golf courses for its guests. The shuttles to the airport, the medina and other places are not free however. The hotel's activities do not correspond to those of an ordinary seaside resort. Here, the entertainment is subdued and sophisticated: live piano, saxophone or guitar music is played by one or two musicians. The Alhambra Thalasspa has been part of the luxury hotel chain Warwick International Hotels since 2008.
8.5/10
This modern hotel stretches over a total area of 10 acres. It was built in 2004 and houses163 standard rooms (36m˛), 15 suites (approximately 85m˛) and six Prestige rooms for a capacity of approximately 400 guests. The hotel has two outdoor pools (one for children, one for adults) and two indoor ones (one for the hotel and one for the thalassotherapy centre). The entrance is very welcoming, decorated in ochre tones blending together Arabic and neoclassical styles. The lounges of the hall invite guests to relax, and the hall itself is quite decent. This Arabic and functional style is to be found almost everywhere in the complex. In some areas chic furniture is combined with louvered windows, which brings to mind some of the rooms of the palace in Granada.
The thalassotherapy centre integrated into the hotel complex is one of the major attractions: the Thalasspa. This area dedicated to body care stretches over 1 acre, and includes 40 booths. Open seven days a week, it is run by a French company called Thalacap. The team of professionals includes two doctors, four beauticians, five massage therapists and one nutritionist. The amenities dedicated to thalassotherapy consist of a hammam (with a capacity of 20 guests) and a pool with a 'thalatonic' class. The centre also comprises general bodycare facilities such as a hairdressing salon, a solarium and many booths for various treatments: baths, power showers, six booths for algotherapy, etc.
7.5/10
The guestrooms of the Alhambra Thalasspa are rather spacious and comfortable, tastefully decorated, still in accordance with the Arabic style of the rest of the complex. The wooden louvered window, the headboard and small tables, as well as the figurative motifs on the bathtub border reflect this particular ambiance. The beds are wide and comfortable. Each room is equipped with a telephone, satellite television (approximately 20 channels), a free safe, a mini-fridge, a hairdryer, a balcony (with a view of the pools, the sea, the garden or the main restaurant the Alcázar), etc. Bathrobes are only available in the suites and Prestige rooms. The latter have no balcony but contrarily to the others, they are equipped with a terrace and a little lounge, furnished with a few comfortable sofas and a table. Some fresh flowers add a lovely natural fragrance to the rooms, which is very welcoming. The hotel has 25 rooms for smokers.
8/10
The cuisine is varied and of good quality, quite a satisfying treat for your holiday. The main restaurant, the Alcázar, has a capacity of 300. The dishes offered on the buffet are perfectly adapted to international gastronomy as they consist of all sorts of foods and ingredients - meat, fish, pasta, soup, salads, vegetables, fruit, cakes, etc: you will find everything you need to make up your own substantial and varied meals. Drinks are not included in the price. The hotel also has four other restaurants. The Granada and its a la carte menu serves international cuisine combined with a type of gastronomy typical of Tunis. The Sevilla and the Marbella, open in summer only, are barbecue-type restaurants, with a maximum capacity of 70 guests. Their menu consists of meat and fish prepared «a la parrilla» (grilled) as well as sandwiches and refreshments. The Moroccan cuisine restaurant, Al Manzour, gives guests a chance to savour dishes such as couscous, samosas, bissara and chebakia. The hotel's bars are also worth mentioning: the lobby bar (Córdoba), the beach bar (Marbella, open in summer only) and the Moorish café (which goes by the name of Al Andalousia, a lovely little place where you can have quality tea and smoke a cachimba to the sound of live music.

The private beach of the Alhambra Thalasspa is located 200 metres from the hotel complex. Parasols, hammocks and towels are at the guests' disposal. Next to this area dedicated to relaxation on the seafront stands a watersports club independent from the hotel, giving you the possibility to enjoy many activities such as sailing, scuba-diving, waterskiing, etc. Don't forget to try the barbecue or any other refreshment served at the barbecue stand located by the sea and run by the hotel (open in summer only). You can also play volleyball in the sand on a court belonging to the Alhambra Thalasspa.
