Review: Argentina Hotel
The Argentina is ideally located, in a beautiful park, a ten minute walk from the historic centre of Dubrovnik. It is better suited to guests attracted by cultural rather than seaside tourism: the beach ground is concrete and activities are scarce.
Advantages
- Located close to the historic centre
- The terrace garden
Disadvantages
- The decor deserves to be renovated
- The artificial beach

The Argentina is located 1,600 feet east of the historic centre of Dubrovnik, which you can reach after a 10 minute walk. It overlooks the sea, the city, and Lokrum Island. The airport is 12 miles away. Allow 20 minutes for transfers.
The beach is not recommended for young children or people who cannot swim well, because one gets quickly out of one's depth.
7/10
Built in 1964, the Argentina is a good category hotel, even though it has not been renovated since 1982 and shows some wear and tear. It has a reasonable capacity: 124 rooms distributed in a 6-storey building. The hotel shares its amenities and its pretty terrace garden with lots of trees with the Villa Orsula located on the same property.
6.75/10
The rooms have an approximate area of 190 square feet and are simply decorated with basic furniture in pink or yellow colours. All rooms have individual air conditioning, a filled mini-bar, satellite television, and a telephone with direct international access. They have a balcony with a table and chairs, overlooking the historic centre of Dubrovnik and Lokrum Island. The bathrooms are properly supplied with a bathtub and hair dryer.
6.25/10
The dining room is large but without any particular style. The breakfast buffet is abundant. Lunch and dinner are served à la carte. Fresh fish every day. Mediterranean and international cuisine. The bar, on the ground floor, stays open late in the night. Cosy 70's atmosphere with wide black leather armchairs typically from the seventies.
6/10
The hotel's artificial beach is more like a small dock covered with large concrete slabs. The seashore is accessed through small ladders installed all along. The beach has deckchairs and an nautical base. This place is pleasant for suntanning, but not recommended for children, because the slope into the water is steep. A nautical base.
