It is located north west of Mahé, in Beau Vallon bay, 3 miles from Victoria, the capital of the Seychelles. To reach the hotel from the airport located 9 miles away, expect 30 minutes.
It is the biggest hotel in the Seychelles in terms of number of rooms and also the most lively: sporting activities, dancing parties and its casino regularly attract both tourists and Sechellois, especially on weekends. Its 5* PADI, diving centre located close to the pizzeria, is a renowned one. It is, however, not recommended for persons seeking charm and tranquillity.

Opened in 1975, the Berjaya Beau Vallon, run by Berjaya, the Malaysian hotel chain, is a big Y-shaped two-storey and unattractive building removed from the beach. It has 232 guestrooms, a front office, salons, a casino and two souvenirs shops, but no elevator. In the gardens there are several newly-built chalets housing the deluxe rooms which add a rather Creole touch to the complex. The complex is separated from the beach by the pool surrounded by various restaurants. Too large to be intimist, this hotel's outmoded design makes it look like a cheap holiday club. However this hotel offers fairly good services. The guests may choose among 4 bars: by the pool, at the pizzeria, in the casino and the Silhouette bar, equipped with an entertainment hall.
6.5/10
The Berjaya Beau Vallon has 25 superior rooms located on the ground floor of the main building, 155 standard rooms spread between the first and second floors and 48 deluxe rooms in the chalets, with private terraces, and 4 suites. You do not need to request a room with sea view, since there is none. However, the standard rooms offer a view of the parking lot. Nevertheless, all rooms are equipped with television, separate air-conditioning, mini-bar, supplies for tea and coffe, telephone, lounge area and a bathroom with shower (and bathtub in the superior rooms). 24 hours room service. Their rattan furniture and flowery fabrics give them a rather fresh and pleasant Creole touch. The superior rooms are, however, very dark and the standard ones can be accessed via an unattractive corridor that strangely looks like a hospital corridor...

The clients of the Berjaya Beau Vallon may choose from four theme restaurants: Parrot, a buffet restaurant offering international, Caribbean, Creole, Mediterranean, and oriental delicacies, seafood and barbecue, a pizzeria, Canton, a Chinese restaurant and Teppanyaki, a Japanese restaurant serving mixed grill and sushi. Spread around the pool, all are widely open on to the outside and are custom-decorated in relation to the theme. Two among these are specially designed like a circle with their frescoes on the walls. The pizzeria offers a beautiful view of the sea. Note that the menu is in both English and Italian. Concerning the half board formula, an extra fee is required in the restaurants other than the buffet one.

The hotel is situated on the immense beach in Beau Vallon. Very much patronised, the latter offers rather limited tranquillity but benefits from fine sand and very clear water. Far off, you can see Silhouette Island and North Island. It is equally one of the few hotels with complete sporting equipments. Non motorised water sport activities are available for the guests free of charge. They have a 10% discount on motorised sports and diving packages provided by the hotel's PADI 5* centre. The beach is supervised and a flag indicates the safety level for bathing. From November to March, North-West trade winds bring algae onto the shore.
