The Cap Est Lagoon hotel is a hotel belonging to the Relais et Chateaux chain. Located in the idyllic setting of the Cap Est peninsula on the eastern side of Martinique, the Cap Est Lagoon Resort overlooks a vast lagoon in the middle of a park that has coconut trees and bougainvilleas. It is an ideal starting point for exploring La Caravelle peninsula, the famous white sandbars of Le François and the beautiful beach of Grande Anse des Salines. At the end of 2008, the hotel added 5 villas, each with a private swimming pool, with an area of 2,690 ft² and 3 rooms for families and friends.
8/10
Built at the tip of the Cap Est peninsula, the Cap Est Lagoon Resort & Spa provides 18 villas of Creole architecture, overlooking the ocean, the swimming pool or the beach and the coconut groves. The combination is scattered in a garden where the bright colours of bougainvilleas override each other. The Cap Est provides Wi-Fi connection in the common areas. It hosts a warm piano bar that serves cocktails of fresh fruits, hosts live bands several times a week, has a wine cellar, a cigar cellar and an exceptional collection of old rum. The hotel also has an illuminated tennis court, a swimming pool carefully landscaped and maintained, 131 ft in length, a room for cardiovascular fitness, a library with books, a games room, a video library, DVD... The Guerlain spa centre, 3,230 ft², provides massages, balneotherapy, hydrotherapy, seaweed wraps and sea mud. It has a hamam bath and a cabin for aesthetic treatments.
8.25/10
All 50 suites of the Cap Est Lagoon Resort & Spa, have an area between 645 and 1,400 ft² and are categorized into 18 independent villas that fit perfectly into the landscape. The interior design is refined, a mixture of wood, stone and cloth, with furniture inspired by world travel and facilities (Internet access, a maxi-bar, hi-fi, plasma TV, DVD, Internet and fax) are of premium quality. Each ground-level suite has an outdoor mini-pool full of freshwater on a terrace with deckchairs and in the bathrooms you can find a bath tub, a double basin and a hair dryer, there is also an outdoor shower surrounded by a small closed patio, which is very pleasant. A terrace is provided for upstairs accommadtions. Room-service operates from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Managed by a European team from Paris, with a high level of service, many references (including from Maison Prunier), the restaurant combines the finesse of French haute cuisine with Creole flavours, in a refined setting, overlooking the coconut grove and the sea. The Cap Est hotel has two restaurants: Le Campêche and Le Bélem. The first restaurant has a view of the beach and faces the lagoon; it serves lunches based on tasty salads, grilled fish and fresh lobster (crayfish is obtained from a breeding farm). Le Bélem, meanwhile, offers a gourmet menu at dinner time. A beautiful wine cellar is maintained at the restaurant with more than 120 varieties of wines from major wine regions in France and abroad. Breakfast is served buffet style at Le Bélem or as room service in the suites.

Opening onto a wide lagoon, the small beach at the Cap Est Lagoon Resort & Spa is oriented towards the east and offers maximum sunshine in the morning. It is shaded in the afternoon when the weather is very hot and has small and steady breezes, which are very pleasant. The water is clear. The hotel has also, at another place, a pontoon fitted out with deckchairs. Very nice. You can also swim on this side. The sailing club offers opportunities for water skiing and kite surfing with qualified instructors.
