6.75/10
Built in 1992, this former 3-storey building is one of the most popular boarding houses in Mindelo. Loutcha, the owner, offers a warm welcome. In addition to the rooms, there are also independent apartments with air conditioning, a refrigerator and television.
6.5/10
24 rooms are housed on 3 floors. There are 3 types of rooms. 9 rooms of 9 m˛ without television, without air conditioning or refrigerator, 5 suites of 20 m˛ and 10 double rooms 15 m˛ in size. The rooms have air conditioning or a portable fan, television (2 channels), a small balcony and a telephone line but it works intermittently. The air conditioners are old but in fact cool the room enough. There is hot water but the pressure is low. The safe is available at the reception. The decoration is simple but elegant. The furniture is made of red wood and the walls are beige.
7.5/10
The bar restaurant is a small room located on the ground floor. The place is known throughout Mindelo because every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evening a group of local musicians play there. Guaranteed ambiance. In addition, the kitchen of Loutcha enjoys a high reputation. Breakfast is typical of a boarding house : ham, cheese, jam, cereal, fruit juice and hard-boiled eggs. The room is a little old but the decoration is nice, with many paintings and photographs of carnivals or portraits. Another negative point is that the furniture is worn out and the room is poorly ventilated.
