The Kani Club Med has 4 tridents. Here, it is the same time zone as in Malé. The average age is 35/40 years old. Most of the clients are couples, but there are also many single persons who often come as groups of friends. Children are accepted. In return, there is no childcare provided.

Built ten years ago, and covering a surface of 148 acres, the Kani preserves the characteristic atmosphere of the Club Med. We noticed its new bar and restaurant at the edge of the water, the decor of the bungalows on piles, its magnificent Banyan Tree, which thrones in the central path, its human-sized chess games, its spa, its overflowing swimming pool with the pool for children and the teak solarium lined with palm trees, its varied entertainment... In return, some of its facilities would indeed deserve to be redone. First of all, the architecture of some its flats, its main restaurant, dark and endowed with a rather shabby decor!

Activities:
At noon: aquagym and Club Med dance, water ski game and water-polo match in the swimming pool.
Every evening at 6.45pm: tasting of sangria and bruschetta (bread with garlic, olive oil and basil) carefully prepared by a GO, volleyball tournaments, etc. and dinners with the incompressible dress code (black and white, pink, safari, brown...).
Every evening at 9.15pm: salsa or rock dancing
At 9.40pm: Mauritian and Madison dance
After 9.45pm: dance show, comedy cabaret or sports show.
After 11.00pm: disco night. Let's not forget the stretch classes, the muscle warming-up exercises, the abdominal exercises, step and aerobics, and petanque, ping-pong, beach volleyball...

400 rooms! From the standard Beach villa to the superior villa through the recent bungalows on piers. Three different styles. The Beach Villas were renovated but careful of the finishings! We shall spare you the details, but there are still some refinements to be made. The colours of the rooms, covered with floor tiles on the ground and bamboo on the ceiling, and of the bathrooms are electric, orange, pink... You feel quite overwhelmed here. The rooms are nevertheless equipped with a big canopy bed, air conditioning, a safe, a telephone, a plasma television with satellite (10 channels), a hi-fi system. The bathrooms are equipped with a double washbasin and a jacuzzi. The superior villas are plainer, rather delicate, pleasant and refined with black furniture, green curtains and stylish lamps. They provide the existing comfort of the standard, a picture window with a terrace offering a view on the beach. On the other hand, they are not equipped with a bathtub, only with a shower. The bathroom, with a single hand-wash basin is too small. Some of these rooms are connected. As far as the bungalows on piles are concerned (regrettably these are rather impressive and the piles are in cement), an aesthetic effort was carried in the decor. A lounge welcomes you at the entrance in the bungalow, decorated with brown sofas and pink pillows. The coffee table is ready for your meal, carefully prepared. The access door of the room is sliding. The latter, of all types of comfort, has a beige stone floor, a canopy bed with veils, a big picture window, with a teak terrace located in front of the ocean. The bathrooms are original, being equipped with a surprising double washbasin, a bathtub, a shower, and original accessories. However, we regret that the windows are not tinted to guarantee privacy in the bathtub. The bungalows have such an arrangement that everybody sees one another, even by coming down from the terrace in the water.

The Club Med Kani has two restaurants. The main restaurant, the Veli, lacks luminosity and its decor is not one of the best taste, the materials and the forms being outdated. The Kandu, a specialty restaurant, serves late lunches and dinners in a pleasant setting. Adorned with columns painted in white, it is opened on the sea and offers a magnificent view on the coral reef. We however deplored the metal barriers, not very aesthetic and not reassuring for the children. This restaurant co-exists with a bar which is also very nice, this latter too having a roof of palm trees leaves. We were not able to taste the food, except for the delicious bruschettas offered at the time of the aperitif before the sunset in the bar located on the beach, entertained by salsa music. Very pleasant. Three other bars will welcome you in the same manner.

The beach is cleaned every day. It is large, equipped with deckchairs, and lined with palm trees. The sand is white and thick. There are few corals in the water. Opposite, one can see the coral reef. The water sports base offers catamaran, kayaking, windsurfing...
