There is no sandy beach at Saint-Paul's Bay. The seafront overhangs the natural rocky ( or concrete reinforced ) terraces where ladders have been built to go down to the sea. If you prefer to lie on a deckchair by the water, you can go to one of the private beach areas that have all the necessary amenities for a charge.

Built in 1995 and renovated in 2004, the Gillieru is composed of a contemporary style building connected by a gangway to a seaside restaurant. A 12 x 8 m swimming pool was built on the roof, with a kids pool. The terrace-solarium that surrounds this relaxing place offers an unobstructed view of the bay and the Saint- Paul islands. Deckchairs and sunshades are provided. Bath towels are also provided upon request.

Of the Gillieru's 72 rooms, 50 are facing the bay. The others have a city view. If possible, book a room overlooking the sea, since the panorama is worth it. Also be aware that 6 rooms have no balcony ( they face the city ). The carpeted corridors ensure a good soundproofing. The varnished wood furniture has simple lines. The tile flooring and the white walls make the available space ( 20 m² ) look larger. The amenities offer a good level of comfort : air conditioning, direct telephone line, satellite television and a refrigerator. In the bathroom, there is a bathtub, hair dryer and a few welcome product samples.

The main restaurant is located in the same building as the guest rooms. The very bright dining room has a bay view but no terrace. In the morning, there is a continental style breakfast buffet ( with cereals, cheese and cold meats ). Eggs, bacon and sausage are extra. In the evening, a small buffet offers vegetables, two assorted meats and fish, as well as a choice of desserts. Soup and pasta are served at the table. Once a week, the Maltese cuisine is the speciality. For lunch, the swimming pool snack bar serves omelettes, pasta and sandwiches. For a more elaborate meal and a magnificent view, it's better to have lunch in the a la carte restaurant located down below. It has a terrace and it serves tasty Maltese and Mediterranean specialities.
