Well suited for accommodating families or groups of friends, the Grand Hotel des Mascareignes compensates for its slightly unfavourable location (not on the waterfront), with carefully designed sports facilities and relaxation areas.

- The big swimming pool.
- The stylish decoration of the rooms.
- The sports and the activities.

Located on the heights of Boucan Canot, the Grand Hotel des Mascareignes dominates the bay and the main road linking Saint-Denis to Saint-Gilles. This location is not too embarrassing, as the relaxation areas of the facility are actually a closed community.
Well suited for families, the Grand Hotel des Mascareignes is a great place to stay for groups of friends who want to spend freely their holidays in a dynamic ambiance. For sun worshippers, the beach of Boucan Canot (very popular among local residents of La Réunion) is 655 ft away.

Renovated in 2003, the Grand Hotel des Mascareignes is a semi-circular building with 5 floors, backed on a hill overlooking the Indian Ocean. Very simply but pleasantly decorated with a low table and mahogany chairs, the reception has ample space for fast arrivals and departures. A small staircase leads to the 7,530 ft² swimming pool. Perfect for swimming lengths, it is also well suited for aquasize courses or water polo. Bordering the swimming pool, the paved sun lounge is very well equipped with deckchairs, mattresses and sunshades. However, since the space is quite limited, the deckchairs are a bit too close to each other. This definitely guarantees a convivial ambiance.

Out of all 155 lodgings at the Grand Hotel des Mascareignes, 16 rooms do not have balconies. However, all the rooms benefit more or less from the same view of the swimming pool, the gardens or the sea horizon. For more tranquillity, ask for the rooms upstairs. Carefully designed, they have a sitting area equipped with a beautiful divan in rattan. The rest of the furniture matches the latter: dark wood, beige lampshade, red and ecru curtains. The facilities have a pleasant level of comfort: air conditioning, a safe, a mini bar, telephone and satellite television. The bathroom in each room has a bathtub and a hair dryer. The toilets are separate.

Occupying a very airy structure along one side of the swimming pool, the restaurant serves breakfast and dinner buffet style. The choice is quite extensive and has a nice selection of buns, pastries, cheese, cold cuts, cereals, yogurts and fresh fruits in the morning. In the evening, the dishes are organised around a theme: Creole, Asian or Mediterranean cuisine. Beautifully dressed with orange tablecloths, the restaurant's tables provide a setting that becomes more romantic in the evening when the swimming pool is illuminated. For lunch, you can order a salad, sandwich, pizza or a local dish such as chicken curry.
