The Tarrafal is located in the village of the same name, north of the island of Santiago. The capital Praia is located 47 miles to the south. In order to go from Praia to Tarrafal, take the road that crosses the island, passing through the land. You will discover landscapes and diverse agricultural crops. The hotel is located opposite the sea, directly overlooking a beautiful beach at the end of the local village's beach.

The hotel is located directly on the beach at Tarrafal, ideal to enjoy the ocean. It is not its charm but its location that makes it a pleasant place of holidaymaking.

Built in 1998, the Tarrafal has a modern architecture, although with no particular charm. The roof is tiled and the building is white. But the hotel is conveniently located between the sea and the mountains we see from the hotel. It has a small swimming pool with a bar, but its outskirts are not equipped (some deckchairs, sunshades and concrete floor). Everything is a little bit sad.

The Tarrafal offers 19 rooms and one suite, including 14 with a view onto the sea. The decoration remains quite modest, with white walls dressed with a small frame and a mirror, and tiled floor. The furniture consists of a bed, a small office, all in wood. The relatively small rooms are equipped with a dressing room, air conditioning, television, a safe, a telephone line. A small bathroom is equipped with toilet and a small bathtub is arranged in the space.

A restaurant overlooking the sea greets the hotel's customers. It is bright as the walls are painted white and there are large windows. White and Blue are the dominant colours. The furniture is made of wood. Some plants and pictures on the wall serve as decoration. It offers the pleasant possibility to have dinner on the terrace overlooking the sea. The restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Breakfast is served buffet style - bread, cake, fruit, jam, milk, cereals, cheese and meat. For dinner and lunch, traditional cuisine of Cape Verde is in the spotlight. On the menu: fish, seafood, lobster, octopus, squid. The fish is bought from local fishermen on the beach, which is 200 m away from the restaurant. The decoration is simple but pleasant to the eye. A remark - they do not have wines of Fogo.

The hotel is located opposite the main beach of Baya verde, a living place for the local villagers during the weekend. The site is pleasant, with yellow sand, no difference in height and without stones. A diving club is located on lka beach to practise water sports.
