Hotel ibis moussafir

Review

As far as comfort is concerned, it is clean and comfortable, as an Ibis hotel, it is worthy of its worldwide known brand. However, the architecture and the reception are Moroccan in style!

Opened at the beginning of 2006, Ibis took up residence in a lovely building with typical Ouarzazate architecture. Blending contemporary decoration with Moroccan colours and style, the result is full of charm with warm colours and a convivial ambiance. Opposite the reception is a huge, typically Moroccan lounge with orangey fabrics and blue floor tiles.
The swimming pool which holds a paddling pool for children is in the interior courtyard. It is pleasant and sunny and there is a friendly bar which serves all sorts of cocktails and beers to keep you cool after a day spent in the heat of Ouarzazate. It is a shame there are so few parasols, because the sun beats down so hard.

The 104 rooms are spread over 3 floors. Most of the rooms are doubles and some of them are triples which are connecting. Modern decoration, carpets on the floor, light wooden furniture straight out of Ikea and minimal equipment (a TV, a telephone and air-conditioning). The great classics for the Ibis hotels! We particularly like the desk by the window, the closet and the high-up mirror; so that you can check that you are impeccable before you go out. The small-sized bathrooms are equipped with a shower. Only the view differs from one room to another: swimming pool or valley?

6.5/10

A restaurant with modern decoration, colourful and convivial, offers a pleasant setting for you to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nobody is forgotten at this hotel and you will not leave with an empty stomach, whatever the time of your flight. There are three services: 4:00 am, 6:00 am and 10:00 am; and for late-risers, a table with a thermos flask of coffee is available for guests until 12 midnight. Patio doors offer a view of the swimming pool and the guests can actually have their meal out on the terrace, between two swimming sessions. For lunch, a salad buffet is available for guests, who can then choose their meat on the a la carte menu. For dinner however, the whole meal is à la carte and the choice and quality of the food are very good.
