On the east coast of Mahé, facing the coastal road, in Anse aux Pins bay, and 11 miles from Victoria, the Seychelles' capital. For the transfer from the airport located about 3 miles away, expect 5 minutes.
This small family establishment offers simple comfort that will be most suitable for those seeking tranquillity and serenity. La Roussette, the French name for the giant local bat, has the total capacity of 10 rooms laid out around a small 270 ft² swimming pool equipped with 8 plastic deckchairs. Disadvantage: it is not directly situated on the beach.
Lodging advice
All the rooms cost the same but for numbers 4 and 5, the oldest and nearest to the road, are rather smaller than the others and have no fans. On the contrary, rooms 1 and 2 are ideal for families and have a wide veranda.

La Roussette is a 5 bungalow establishment. Everything is painted in white, Creole-style, spread in a pleasant garden of bougainvilleas in the middle of which there is a small swimming pool. A main pavilion, widely open onto the exterior, is home to the restaurant and the bar. A hammock, set up under a rotunda in the garden, is also available. The island's main road separates the hotel from the beach.

The 10 rooms are distributed in 5 bungalows. The hotel added an eleventh room in January 2007. Relatively illuminated and decorated in a fresh and flowery style, the rooms have a television with two channels, individual air-conditioning, a fan, an adaptor, a safe, a bathroom with shower but without guest supplies, and a small terrace. International telephone is available at the reception.
6.25/10
Overlooking the garden, the restaurant, decorated with shades of green and white, is spacious but lacks warmth and you would want to trade its plastic furniture for more comfortable chairs. As for the cuisine, you will be able to sample Creole specialities served "à la carte". Just close by, a bar will serve you your favourite cocktails.

In order to get to the beach, you have to cross the main road then the Casuarina hotel situated just opposite. The beach is not very big and not appropriate for bathing because of its shallowness, but offers clear water and fine sand. On the contrary, the panorama is a bit marred by the presence of a concrete dyke on one side and a Jacuzzi on the other. La Rousette lends out beach towels but neither masks nor tubas. From March to September, South-East trade winds bring algae to the shore.
