Review
Ideally constructed right on the water front the Palais des Roses offers its customers a magnificent thalassotherapy centre, a huge swimming pool with a spacious garden and a multitude of possibilities for restaurant services. It is a pity that the service and the food are really not up to the quality of the place.
Advantages
- The common spaces (lobby, garden / swimming pool)
- The number of restaurants
- The thalassotherapy
- The size of the swimming pool (almost Olympic !)
Disadvantages
- The lack of animation. A zest of music gives the place some life
- The finishings in the rooms.
Price and availability of the Hotel

Built in 2003, the Palais des Roses is a building with Moorish architecture, as you can tell by the contours of the windows. It is concentrated around a huge swimming pool, which itself overlooks a large garden. Along the beach, the living areasare well designed so that everyone feels comfortable. The restaurants and the bars are located in the large central lobby with the rooms on the sides. They are sometimes a little far away from the reception and the restaurants. The thalassotherapy centre, with an area of 129165 ft², has 120 cabins for treatments and offers many different types of treatments. Brand new for 2005, the Chakra Stone massage is done with volcanic stones and essential oils. Try the music therapy and the revitalizing room to revive the 5 senses!

The rooms, 405 in total, are large and comfortable. The decoration is, however, without much charm. Even though the materials are decent, the touch of refinement wouldn't go a miss. They are equipped with 2 beds and a sofa, a bathroom with a bath tub and a hair dryer, a separate toilet, satellite TV, direct dial telephone, a mini-bar (rather poor), wardrobes, a safe and air conditioning. It is nice to be able to enjoy the first rays of sun on the balcony. 48% of the rooms are located facing the sea or the swimming pool.

6 thematic restaurants. The international restaurant (breakfast and dinner) is the main restaurant. It is a bit noisy and the the taste of the dishes does not really make you want to go back for a second helping. At breakfast, a chef performs live cooking and upon request will prepare omelettes and pancakes for you, while you have your coffee served at the table.
The Mediterranée is an a la carte restaurant with varied cuisine where, as its name suggests, you can taste Mediterranean cuisine. (lunch and dinner)
The Sel & Poivre (Salt & Pepper), a dietary restaurant, serves a la carte. Beautiful panoramic terrace. (lunch and dinner). The restaurant will soon host a section dedicated to Vietnamese cuisine.
Le Safran is the hotel's Moroccan restaurant. It offers typical ambience and decoration. (a la carte at dinner). It is designed to resemble a Moroccan salon, which gives it an intimate atmosphere.
The Oasis, with its rustic decor and latino ambiance, consists of two terraces and offers simple food for lunch (pizzeria-barbecue).
Finally, "El Khaima" quite pleasant for its setting (tents and terrace overlooking the sea), offers a buffet and menu at lunch.
A Moorish café invites you quietly to enjoy a hookah and a mint tea on comfortable Moroccan sofas with gnawi music as background music.

The Palais des roses is located on the beach of Agadir, 5.5 miles long. Fine sand and sun throughout the year. On one side of the hotel, you can see the promenade that is under construction on the beach (February 2008). They get closer and closer. Already, a huge sign announcing the future developments impedes the view over the Atlantic Ocean. The incessant waves make swimming very active. A little further away from other hotels, this place is good for relaxation and peace. The varying level of the beach is ideal because it helps allows you to keep an eye on the children at all times. A private beach, standing a little on a height, is equipped for the hotel's guests : a beach attendant offers you towels and mattresses for the deck chairs (well worn). There are also showers for you to use. The hotel club does not offer water sports. You will need to speak to the various private rental offices on the beach to rent equipment. Here, as elsewhere on the bay, the sand is golden and regularly cleaned by the city authorities. On the foreshore, there are no pebbles. Watch out, it is often windy in the evening.
