Review
In a remote location, the Zat is a respectable hotel, but lacking in charm. Ideal for a stopover in Ouarzazate, in a place which is far from the hustle and bustle of the city, with all the necessary comforts for a relaxing stay.
Advantages
- The Caidale tent where you can have a meal
Disadvantages
- At a distance from the city centre
- The architecture and decoration are a little outdated
Price and availability of the Hotel
A traditional folk evening is organised every weekend.
It is the only hotel in Ouarzazate to be equipped with a ramp for wheelchairs.
The owners are planning on having small riads built for families who need a little privacy, but also, in particular, to attract the passing production teams in the region who work staggered hours.

The Zat is a small hotel stretching over 10 acres, dating from 1973, but restored in 2000. The architecture of the hotel makes it look a little imposing. The hotel consists of a one storey pink-coloured building in a park planted with a few palm trees. If you want to relax, a swimming pool awaits holiday makers and a bar gives you the opportunity to have a cup of mint tea in peace.

58 bedrooms including 2 suites accommodate the guests. The rooms are simply decorated and despite the worn carpet, the place is very clean. The furniture is of the most basic quality. The rooms are equipped with a TV, a telephone and air-conditioning/heating. The suites have a lounge and a bedroom. You will find a small bathtub, a bidet and numerous hospitality products in the bathrooms. The bathrooms in the suites have bathrobes and slippers.

The restaurant hall overlooks the swimming pool. You can have breakfast, lunch and dinner served à la carte in two rooms decorated in red and yellow, or otherwise out on the terrace. Local as well as international cuisine is served here. A large Caidale tent has been set up in the garden, where you can have a meal or a drink. Special dinners and parties are organised in the tent. A snack bar next to the swimming pool provides sandwiches or salads at any time of the day.
