Lodging advice

The 30 villas are identical, but the view varies depending on where you are located in the 3 Ocean View villas and the 11 Ocean Panoramic Villas, on the flanks of a hill, thus overlooking the ocean, or in the 8 Ocean Front Villas on the edge of the beach and the 8 Maia Signature Villas including 2 with private beach. A children's bed is available in the 3 Ocean View Villas.

Opened in September 2006, this very luxurious hotel belonging to the South African hotel chain Southern Sun (which also runs the Paradise Sun in Praslin) stretches over a hill near Anse Louis. The typical roofs (reminiscent of a style more African than Seychellois) of the 30 huge villas spread on Anse Louis heights can be seen from afar. At the foot of the gourmet restaurant and the bar, there is a big modern overflowing swimming pool, which is well equipped and surrounded by a solarium with wooden deckchairs and furnished with pads and parasols. On your way back to the entrance of the 30 acre estate, you can notice a magnificent prestige spa by La Prairie, containing 3 luxurious rooms for massage, a relaxation pavilion for yoga, tai-chi, and a hairdresser saloon. Moving between the different spots of the hotel is done in a small electric cart.

Indeed a strong point of the Maïa Luxury Resort, the 30 sublime identical villas, with an area of 2,690 ft², are built in contemporary style with an excellent decoration, made of noble materials with exotic colours. It has a private swimming pool surrounded by a sun deck, a big king size canopy bed and mosquitoe net, a splendid terrace with a 180° panoramic view of the ocean, a private garden and a gazebo (private pavilion, suitable for a romantic candle light dinner), an external lounge, an American cuisine with bar reserved to the majordomo, a modern tea kettle, a Nespresso coffee machine, a flat television screen furnished with DVD and CD player, an i-Pod station, a safe, separate air-conditioning reinforced with a ceiling fan, and a telephone with outlets for fax and the Internet. The bathrooms consist of a big external bathtub for 2 persons in the middle of a decorated basin facing the ocean, a large internal shower with a bench and double sinks. Hairdryer, dressing gowns and guest supplies are provided. The toilets are separate. A majordomo ensures 24 hour room service.

The dishes of the Maïa Luxury Resort, cooked by André Chiang, a great Taiwanese cook who worked for Alain Ducasse is highly renowned in the Seychelles. The gourmet restaurant, "Le Gourmet" serves Mediterranean, Creole, and Franco-Asian specialities à la carte. Note: all wines are imported from France. The hotel also organises romantic dinners on the beach or directly in the villas - 24 hours. The swimming pool bar, "The Magnificent", serves succulent tropical cocktails.

The gorgeous beach with fine and white sand of Anse Louis invites bathers to its clean waters. Moreover, you will not be bored by engine powered water sports, forbidden on this beach which is always quiet. The Maïa Luxury Resort has130 wooden deckchairs furnished with pads and offers customised services on the beach. Beach towels are supplied directly in the rooms and a shower allows you to rinse yourself.
