Review: Millennium Hilton Bangkok Hotel
Imposing from outside and impressing from inside, the Millennium Hilton is a really incredible establishment. The decoration of the hotel is a skillful mix between modernism and Asian tradition. It also has a splendid location on one of the banks of the Chao Phraya river...

Songkran, or the New Water Festival, as it is also know, is the most important of all Thai festivals and holidays. It marks the beginning of a new astrological year and is much in keeping with the old lunar calendar of Siam. It is officially celebrated this year on April 12, but the festival actually takes place over a period of four days. This year the festival will kick-off on 13 April. The centre

The Millennium Hilton is situated around fifty minutes from the airport of Suvarnabhumi, if you do not drive during rush hours! As the hotel is situated on the other side of the Chao Phraya river, you will have to cross the river through the only street available, where there is therefore often traffic.
As a starting point to discover the town and its main attractions, the Millennium Hilton offer to its guests shuttles which continuously link the two banks of the river. You can then very easily access the sky train.
The tower existed since 1997, but the Hilton chain bought it and opened the establishment in 2006.

Love it or not, it is difficult to be indifferent to the Millennium Hilton. The least you can say is that the establishment is worth its name. Outside, it is no more no less a huge 31-floor tower, overhang by an observatory... You will have to hold your breath once you enter the immense glass doors. The entrance hall is very impressive. Lift your head... you will be amazed by the height of the ceiling. All here seems excessive, in a futurist musical atmosphere. The glass walls show external façades covered with vegetation, as in a cocoon. A few fresh orchids complete everything.
The swimming pool is simply splendid, surrounded by fine sand. However, do not consider to swim lenghts inside. However, a space of around 66 feet is designed as a swimming line. On the one hand, it benefits from a superb view of the river. On the other hand, its overflowings give a feeling of infinity with the surrounding space. As a part is a not very deep basin, certain beach chairs are installed in the water. The hotel Spa is designed as a Thai pavilion. There is a very zen atmosphere, enhanced by the diffused fragrance of lavender. The guests are welcomed by a very beautiful basin of flowered water lilies.
The spa used different products of the Pevonia and Thalgo brands. The different treatments offered use the four elements to optimise the cares: water, air, earth and fire. Ten treatment rooms, two of which designed for couples, are available.

The Millennium Hilton has 534 rooms. Although comfortable, you would expect a more original decoration, more adequate to the rest of the hotel. However, they are in the same grey, beige and black tones. You will have the choice between two twin beds or a superb king-size bed. The majority of the rooms have a beautiful and clear view of the river. It is a pity that you cannot enjoy that from a balcony. However, it is difficult to find more equipped rooms: TV, air conditioning, safe, minibar with tea and coffee kit, hairdryer and 24 hour room service. Concerning the bathroom all dressed in marble, it is very elegant: a three side mirror overhang the visible bathtub, just next to a glass shower. Welcome products are placed on the right of the basin, facing beautiful fresh flowers.

The guests of the establishment can enjoy three different restaurants. The Flow, the main restaurant of the hotel, is situated both indoor and outdoor by the river. Therefore, it benefits from a very beautiful view. The half-shaded, half-sunny terrace leaves you the choice of the location. The restaurant operates as a buffet for the three meals of the day. You will taste an excellent and refined cuisine from different continents. The Yuan, built as a kaleidoscope with big round tables, offers an elaborate Chinese cuisine. Concerning the Prime, meat and seafood sampling is guaranteed!
For the aperitif, after-dinner drink or simply at sunset, the Millennium Hilton has an unmissable place within its walls: the Three Sixty. Go have your favourite cocktail with the view of Bangkok in front of you. Installed on the last floor of the hotel, which is the 37th floor, the Three Sixty benefits from a 360 degree panoramic view which will leave you speechless. Not indicated for those suffering from vertigo!
