Built in 2001 and partly renovated in 2004, the Paradisus Riviera Maya offers its customers both leisure activities and rest. It consists of 14 small buildings of two levels all painted white in a Mayan style. The big reception hall, with marble floor and columns carved with Mayan signs and luxuriously decorated, opens onto the gardens and a large swimming pool reserved for adults in search of rest. Nearby, you will find the impressive spa built in a giant dome 33 feet high, decorated with colonnades opening to the outside world. The building also hosts the fitness room, air conditioning, modern and equipped with two television screens. Near the beach, in the gardens, you will find 3 swimming pools, including a large pool decorated with jets of water and wooden bridges and another is reserved for water activities.

The hotel's 500 rooms are comfortable and well equipped, pleasantly located in small buildings. But access there is sometimes a bit long. Furnished in a wooden style, they present a refined decoration in shades of beige being in harmony with walls plastered yellow, blue and red. Spreading on a pretty good area (129 ft² each), all rooms are equipped with satellite TV, individually adjustable air conditioning, telephone for direct international dialling, a safe, a mini-bar (soft drinks, beer and water included), a kit for making tea and coffee, a large balcony with a plastic table and two chairs. The bathrooms all have a bath tub, well presented personal skin care products, a magnifying mirror and a hairdryer.

Not less than six restaurants are offered for the clients of the Paradisus hotel. A main buffet, serves buffet style for breakfast and dinner. Well equipped and furnished with well spaced wooden tables, the dishes are served in the centre divided into four parts, one of which extends onto a beautiful terrace. The breathtaking view onto the sea. The cuisine is both oriental and international. In the evening, the hall turns into an Italian restaurant, serving a la carte and upon reservation. There are also 5 speciality restaurants in the evening: a French, a Japanese, a Mediterranean, a Mexican and a steak-house offering grilled meat and fish. The steak-house, situated on a wooden terrace behind the buffet, turns into a snack bar during the day. Each speciality restaurant offers a capacity of around 120 seats. The Mexican restaurant also has a beautiful view onto the sea.

The hotel's beach, which is public, presents a surface of sand large enough for the customers that it should receive. It can be reached after the beach bar near the swimming pools. It has deck chairs of plastic laid down with blue mattresses in the shade of straw huts with palapa rooftops, a volleyball ground and a water sports centre offering non-motorised sports. But it remains peaceful. The sand is white, fine and cleaned, the water is turquoise and clear. It is hard not to be seduced!
