Built in 1996 and renovated in 2008, the Tikida Beach has 233 rooms spread in a large, L-shaped building of Spanish-Moorish style, situated on the seafront. The hotel is huge and there are many places for relaxation. The most pleasant area is the heated, lagoon swimming pool, remarkably set-up (greenery, deck chairs). Moderate animation is present during the day. Surrounded by wooden barriers, the mini-club, at one end of the common areas, has a vast place covered with sand, and with swings. Underneath, you will find the well-equipped fitness club and a jacuzzi. The slightly hilly, green spaces are great to take a stroll. Inside the hotel, the large and numerous lounge areas allow you to find some space to yourself for chatting or playing cards. The nightclub, Papagayo, is one of the most famous in Agadir. The small, yellow and blue thalassotherapy centre, renovated in 2003, allows those who wish to, to treat themselves to treatments "a la carte" or cures for a period of 3 to 9 days. Finally, the Sun Golf course offers an ideal setting for sporty relaxation.

The rooms of the Tikida hotel are very spacious (430 ft²) and comfortable. They have a terrace, except for the single rooms. If possible, ask for a room on a higher floor if you want to enjoy a lateral or frontal view of the sea. The hotel's vegetation actually obstructs the view from the rooms located on the ground floor. Impeccable and identical, the rooms are plainly decorated in shades of blue and white and equipped with a sitting area with old-fashioned upholstery, many storage lockers, direct dial telephone, satellite television, adjustable air conditioning, a safe used for free and a fridge. The large bathrooms have a bath, bath robes, slippers and a hair dryer. The toilets are separate from the bathrooms.

4 restaurants are available for clients :
The Chiringuito offers continental breakfast, a buffet lunch and dinner a la carte, and serves fish specialties (with a reservation 24 hours in advance). It offers an exceptional setting between the swimming pool and the beach. There is the possibility to eat outdoors. During our visit in February 2008, this restaurant was only open in the evening, after the work on the beach stopped.
Le Caroubier opens its doors in the morning (from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.) and in the evening (from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.), and serves a copious buffet, surprisingly well stocked (20 hot dishes for dinner). You've got to try it !
Le Mogador, the Moroccan restaurant, is only open in the evening (with a reservation 24 hours in advance). Finally, the Olivio is available for lunch and serves Italian specialties.
The hotel's 5 bars offer a snack service and take turns to serve meals during the day. Each bar has its own ambiance : right on the waterfront or dry in a musical lounge bar ... To choose from : Zanzibar, Chiringuito bar, Palmier, Cascade and Zenith. In the last two, live music is offered every evening.

The construction of a promenade along the beach has caused major construction work in front of the Riu Tikida Beach hotel, located on the seafront : trucks and other vehicles work non-stop from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. You have to search for the path that allows access to the beach avoiding the cuttings (February 2008). $In all likelihood, the promenade will be completed by June 2008$. Normally, the beach of the Tikida Beach is spacious and tranquil. Deck chairs, mattresses, umbrellas and towels are available for free to customers of the hotel club. It is also possible to partake in various water activities such as catamaran, sailing or windsurfing (for extra payment). Here as elsewhere on the bay, almost at zero sea level, the sand is fine, golden and regularly cleaned by the city authorities. Watch out, it is often windy in the evening.
