Built in 2001, the Royal Island is a hotel with 148 villas bordered with flagstone alleys and surrounded by a well maintained tropical garden. The reception area is spacious, originally decorated, with crab-shaped wooden armchairs... Different strokes for different folks... On the other hand, the coconut juice served in its fruit is delicious. The hotel has a swimming pool just in front of the ocean. It is pleasant to swim there and to mix up its surface with the ocean's surface. The Royal Island also has a fitness room, an outside tennis court that is lit up at night, squash courts, indoor badminton, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, pool tables...it also has an Araamu spa that offers massages and relaxing treatments in 6 outside pavilions and 5 inside rooms. The hotel offers for a fee: dhoni (small sailboat) or glass-bottomed boat excursions... It's worth the cost !

The 148 villas are located facing the beach. Decorated in wood, they are warm and have a terrace, are all air conditioned with fans, have a direct telephone for international calling, satellite television with Internet access, a mini-bar, a safe, a little lounge area and the essentials for tea and coffee. Raffia slippers are offered. The bathrooms are tiled, open onto a little outside garden with a bathtub, bidet, hair dryer.

The main restaurant is fitted out around a patio with a fountain. It offers theme buffets. An a la carte Mediterranean speciality restaurant offers you a variety of dishes. On the other hand, two bars including one by the swimming pool with a sea view and a night club allow you to sip your cocktails and have fun.
