The Sivory Punta Cana is nestled in a part of the region which is still fairly wild, ideal to ensure peace for the clientele; indeed, no motorised activity is permitted on the hotel's site. The hotel is not only human scaled given the level of services, but the first in this region to claim membership in the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, a pledge of excellence. Even though children are admitted, this hotel is not a suitable place for families : there is no kid's club and no entertainment events, day or night. However, the hotel is appropriate for honeymooners and those who want holidays with serenity and relaxation. Food of excellent quality, accompanied by a wine cellar with over 10,000 bottles, a cigar cellar of high quality and a spa centre offering many treatments add to the uniqueness of places. A must? The Sivory Punta Cana offers 55 suites, distributed in four small one-storey salmon pink buildings. Opened in 2006, this 5 * prestigious hotel, is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Surrounded by a beautiful beach, washed by the clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean, the human scale hotel is really luxurious. The common areas are arranged around a pleasant swimming pool and the beach is never more than ten or so metres away. Intimacy, peace and discretion are the most appropriate adjectives to describe this little jewel, frequented by a wealthy clientele. A spa centre, two tennis courts, a pitch and putt, a nice shop and a hairdresser are available on the hotel's premises and caretakers are available to offer a wide range of sporting activities (equestrian hiking, cycling, golf, submarine diving, fishing ...) and excursions. The airport transfer by helicopter is offered for free in some packages.

Small one-storey buildings, wisely aligned in three rows, house up to 55 suites and overlook either the ocean or the beautiful tropical garden. The suites are 60 to 88 square metres - not to mention the two-bedroom villa with a surface area of 209 square metres - and have a large balcony or a terrace. All rooms are equipped with a king-size bed, flat screen television with satellite (9 channels in English, 6 channels in Spanish) and a CD / DVD, a kit for tea and coffee, a full mini-bar and, supreme luxury, a mini-wine cellar, two telephones with fax and Internet and a third line in the toilets, a large safe, individually controlled air conditioning with a fan. The lounge, with its soft sofas, is bathed in natural sunlight which enters the room through a wide bay window. The vast bathroom offers double sinks, a large Jacuzzi tub and ? separate double shower, including one with a jet, very upscale and particularly invigorating extra amenities. Some suites also have a mini-pool or a shower and an outdoor jacuzzi ! The personal skin care products, branded Etro, are provided in sufficient quantities. A hair dryer, slippers and fluffy robes complete the offerings. The beach is only a 25 metres or so from each building. Upon request, an amazing service is offered as extra - a hot drink, freshly squeezed orange juice and mini pastries, served right after awakening, before you go to have your breakfast. Room service is available around the clock.

The Gourmond is the gourmet restaurant of the region: the chain of Rôtisseurs is also somewhere which deserves a reward. The chef, French born, offers a very inspired cuisine where the lobster responds with foie gras. You can dine on the terrace and listen to the ocean or in your room, through a huge bay window to the extraordinary wine cellar : more than 10,000 bottles from all over the world wait to be tasted ! At the Lavendera, located on the ground floor of Gourmond, you can have breakfast, a quick snack or a light lunch, and also dinner, while appreciating the freshness of Mediterranean cuisine. Finally, the Tau is the place that will introduce you to oriental fusion cuisine. All meals during the day are routinely offered a la carte. Adjacent to the lobby, the Sybbar allows you to discover a good range of alcoholic drinks at its piano bar. During the day, the Blu, located opposite the swimming pool, provides snacks and salads, hot and cold beverages at its few tables or near the swimming pool or the beach.

A beach of fine sand, carefully isolated from the neighbourhood by high coconut palms and some high bushes, the deck chairs and umbrellas; you can fully isolate yourself from other customers, and choose a location of your preference : just opposite your suite, if you are lucky enough to obtain a waterfront lodging, by the swimming pool and the restaurants and even outside the buildings. A shower and a fountain located near the swimming pool allow you to take a refreshing shower. The plastic imitation-wood deck chairs are all equipped with thick pads and protected by an umbrella, either around the swimming pool or the beach. Bath towels are available at the swimming pool and in case you forget, an employee will gladly fetch one for you at the seaside. Service is naturally at hand, a waiter approaches regularly but discreetly to ask if you'd like to order something on the beach. Peace and serenity being the watchwords for this hotel, no motorised water sports are allowed, but the concierge will be happy to meet any wish to take up water skiing, scuba diving or fishing a mile or two away. Yet, it is regrettable to see the limited facilities of water sports : only one windsurf board and a few surfing opportunities are made available to the clients.
