Price and availability of the Hotel
Built in 1995, the Soneva Fushi is the representation of "chic rustic". The furniture is made on site by local craftsmen. The island is a member of Small Luxury Hotels. When you get out of the sea plane, you are asked to take your shoes off. "No news, no shoes", the concept compels! The Soneva Fushi is a creation of the Son and Eva couple, their jewel, fabricated according to the concept of "Intelligent Luxury", luxury that is intelligent enough to respect nature and the environment. The hotel is thus governed by a whole philosophy. It is a micro-society that tries to use the maximum renewable energies. In 2010, the hotel would like to work only in this way. And become neutral in carbon dioxide emission, against the greenhouse effect. At this time, the hotel already uses compost and works with solar energy. Soon, there will be an observatory with a telescope.
Underwater diving:
Underwater diving can be done at 164 feet; there is a cliff. Lessons are given by the Soleni Dive Centre. The method is PADI-certified.

0.8 miles long and 0.2 miles wide, the island is rather big. When you arrive on the island, you only see bars and restaurants, and the magnificent Theo Fennel jewellery shop. The rest is jungle. One may wonder how bungalows are... Walking, we discover atypical places of relaxation in the trees. Bungalows worthy of Robinson will amaze you. The standard room is equipped with a suspended bridge connecting the floor with a terrace. Everything is in raw and chic wood. The advantage of the Soneva Fushi, which makes its uniqueness, is its organic garden, with many plants such as basil, rosemary, papaya, lemon, figs, litchis, looked after by Louis, who lays down permaculture or permanent agriculture. The natural agricultural reproduction. It consists in protecting a fruit from insects with another fruit, this other fruit itself attracting other insects, it is necessary to put another fruit and thus finding a balance... The crop obtained this way certainly has its limits but Louis works on it and finds amazing solutions. Among the facilities, the hotel has a fitness room, a tennis court lit up at night, a volleyball court and a ping-pong table. A Six Senses spa is being built but jacuzzi; sauna and Turkish baths already exist. There is also a movie theatre. The water sports base offers many activities (see our beach section). Internet access is available free of charge in the library. The Wi-Fi is accessible at the bar. A room with television and DVD is also available. Buggies are available to transport you, but each person has its own bike. Every evening at 5.00pm, yoga lessons of are given free of charge by an Ayurvedic doctor. Babysitting is possible.

The hotel has 65 rooms divided into 16 categories: The Soneva Fushi Villa Suite is luxurious. Do not hesitate if you can afford it. All the rooms have a direct beach view from the sunrise side or the sunset side. Eva gives a lot of importance to bathrooms. Thus, they are all spacious, original, comfortable, often having a sofa, with generally one part open towards the outside and even a garden with a shower, decorated with ponds and magnificent plant life. The Crusoe Villa has a suspended bridge connecting a terrace-hut, which gives access to the sand. The staircases are in wooden logs, lined with ropes. Most of the rooms are equipped with a sea water swimming pool, all different. The beds are protected by a mosquito net. All the rooms are equipped with air conditioning, a mini-bar, a fan, a hi-fi system, a hair dryer, a anti-mosquito spiral, binoculars, a mirror, and a torch. There are dried fruits in all the rooms. Room service operates from 7.00am to midnight every day, free of charge. The hotel has connecting rooms.

The cuisine is particularly refined and flavourful, thanks to quality crops. The products are fresh. The presentation is very aesthetic. Several restaurants are available: the main restaurant and the organic restaurant, My Dhuniye, above the garden where you arrive by a suspended bridge. The Mihiree Mitha offers various delicious dishes, cooked in front of you, chosen to your taste. Ayurvedic menus can be prepared and served on request in your room or at the restaurant. Across from the island, there is a large sandbank, on which every Tuesday evening a cocktail party with a barbecue buffet is organized at about 6.00pm. Dinners and private barbecues can be organized on this sandbank. The hotel has a wine cellar. The wine is excellent.

Every room has a private beach or a beach shared by two or three rooms. Two public beaches are also available: the turtle beach (turtles lay their eggs on the beach and always return where they were born) and the dolphin beach. Cruises are moreover organized to go see them on the open sea. The beaches are cleaned every day. In the water, the corals are left to preserve the environment. The water sports base offers catamaran, windsurfing, canoeing, water skiing...
