The Soneva Gili is a masterpiece of Son and Eva, that creative couple who set up several hotels with the same concept, Intelligent Luxury, a smart, ecological luxury. After the Soneva Fushi, the Soneva Gili keeps a natural aspect, with construction based only on natural products. Here, the philosophy is always the same : "no news, no shoes". Here, it's 200% nature time, barefoot, for those who wish to pull themselves away from civilisation. A good concept in Maldives. You will be more isolated here than in another island ! It is an hour more than in Male, to benefit from the sun longer. Underwater diving:
Classes are given with the PADI method. The sites are located 10 minutes away from the Soneva Gili.

The island is 850 m long and 450 m wide. Built in 2003, the Soneva Gili is made up of 37 bungalows on stilts : 29 Suite Villas of 210 m², 8 Residences of 250 m², and 7 Crusoe Residences of 250 m². The bar and the Six Senses spa are also in the water. The bungalows and the spa are facing the coral reef. You see the water below the massage tables. The spa includes: an Ayurvedic doctor, body massages and treatments, hammam, sauna, swimming pool... A restaurant is set up on the beach. Craftsmen and dressmakers work on the spot and are the own designers for the hotel in an elaborate and steady work. The hotel has a media centre (books, CD, DVD, etc.) and wireless Internet access. As for sporting amenities : a fitness room, tennis, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, petanque. As for games: backgammon, trivial pursuit, i-Pods upon request. Babysitting, laundry service are also offered.

The Soneva Gili houses the largest rooms in Maldives on the water, the Crusoe Residence being even the most spacious of the archipelago. The rooms are decorated with black rustic wood and palm tree leaves on the ceiling. The sofas are adorned with pink, orange and yellow cushions. A bay window gives a sea and lagoon view. All the rooms are equipped with CD and DVD players, safe, mini-bar, television with satellite (18 channels) and Internet access. The hotel also has a private reserve of 1,400 m², located 500 m away from the island and accessible only by boat. The view of the coral reef is unobstructed. The restaurant serves twice a week an international or Asian buffet for dinner, the rest of the time a menu is offered. A choice of 300 wines is offered. The restaurant opens onto the sea, very nice. The service is perfect : you will choose your dishes at the buffets and they will be brought to you. The cuisine is elegant and refined, with a large choice of spices and oils. You will sit on very comfortable seats. Delicious moments of serenity and relaxing tasting are reserved for you in this place of intense pleasure. The bar also is open for lunch and dinner.

The beach is beautiful, the sand is more or less fine, with corals. The water is translucent. The water sports centre offers catamaran, kayaking, windsurfing, hobbie cat, canoeing...
