Review
Here you are entering one of the most beautiful hotels in Agadir, which is set apart by its location: far from the beach, outside Agadir, but on a 36-hole golf course and with a superb spa. The surroundings here exude peace and luxury. Opened in February 2007, the Riad combines Moroccan and contemporary styles. It's a shame the restaurant isn't up to the same standard.

Price and availability of the Hotel
The Tikida Gold Palace is located about 4 mi from the centre of Agadir, at one end of the Soleil golf course, covering 279 acres. The 9-hole course encircles the Riad. Both were designed by landscape architect Gérard Courbin. The Dunes golf course is 984 ft away. Transfer time from the airport (which is about 9 mi away), is around 15-20 minutes.
Everything has been designed to accommodate disabled guests. However, this beautiful hotel with Wi-Fi Internet connection is not recommended for children as there are no activities for them here. The vast majority of the hotel's guests are French.
The Soleil golf course club-house, built 8 years ago, has a reception, conference and even wedding room. Alongside you will find 40 practice mats (hotel guests take priority). Take a stroll around Agadir's largest golf course (36 holes, 3 courses) and admire the artificial lakes, the local residents (moorhens, swans, etc.) and the magnificent eucalyptus, palm trees, olive trees, weeping willows, laurels, etc. The Atlas Mountains can be made out in the distance. The green fee is around £55 for an 18-hole course. For information, 48 gardeners work on the golf course, including 2 who work exclusively in the hotel.
A word of warning: The spa is particularly busy after 4pm when golfers return to the hotel.
Accommodation advice:
The bedrooms overlooking the 9th hole offer the best view.

This vast, pastel pink-coloured 54-suite Riad opens out in the middle where you will find a 49ft-long swimming pool which is totally sheltered from the wind. The various areas of the hotel are located all around. From the reception you will see the vegetation and the blue of the swimming pool, which is heated to 26°C. Just alongside you can make out a long, Arabo-Andalusian garden. Turtles and frogs have taken up residence here. Digital lifts lead up to the first, open-air floor. In the hotel's communal areas, as well as in the bedrooms, guests can admire the many copper sculptures, 180 Berber rugs and a selection of canvases that the owner of the Riad, an art enthusiast, wanted to show off. Designed by Christine Roffiane, the decor in the hotel is a synthesis of Moroccan and contemporary styles. The hotel is proud of its 4,306 sq ft spa and rightly so: the area exudes luxury, peacefulness, newness and essential oils. Ochre and gold stucco and tadelakt floods the walls. It is all very stylish, spacious and enveloping. A superb freshwater pool (33°C) overlooks the golf course through its picture windows. Even the sauna has a window. Thanks to the light entering through the stained glass windows, the steam is invisible in one of the hammams. The second also has a beautiful archway at its centre. On the first floor, a long corridor with a subdued atmosphere leads off to the various treatment rooms located on either side. Also available: Italian marble exfoliation rooms and a massage room for couples.

Overlooking the golf course or the swimming pool, the Riad's 54 superb suites are divided between 4 different categories. The spacious bedrooms have a floor area of 538 sq ft in junior suites, 861 sq ft in ambassador suites, 969 sq ft in princely suites and 1,076 sq ft in royal suites. The very stylish decor is pretty much the same in all the suites, as is the layout, with very comfortable white lounge areas. The sober decor is conducive to relaxation. The thick king-size beds are covered with a white goose-feather duvet which stands out nicely against the light brown stucco and tadelakt walls. Light enters all corners of the suites thanks to the enormous picture windows which lead onto large balconies. As well as unlimited Internet access rooms also have: a large wooden dressing room, a large plasma screen television (36 channels), a DVD player, a safe deposit box (payable locally), individual air-conditioning, a mini-bar and a telephone. The large openwork bathrooms luxuriously designed in malachite have a large bathtub, an Italian-style shower, a double vanity unit, bathrobes, slippers, a hair-dryer and many hospitality products. The toilet is separate.

Guests are invited to dine in the à la carte restaurant. Breakfast is served between 7am and 10am with the bread coming from the "Paul" bakery. For lunch, you just have to decide what time you want to go for a little snack at the hotel or to treat yourself at the club-house restaurant at the other end of the golf course. Between 7pm and 10pm mainly European dishes are served, along with three Moroccan dishes on request. Even though the quality of the food is not wonderful, you will appreciate the soft atmosphere and the beauty of the setting with its zellige floor, dome and even a few symmetrical recesses, the space between each table, the wine list, the cigar cellar, the view of the lake and the 7th hole, etc.

A shuttle service takes guests to the beach at the Riu Tikida Beach every half-hour in the morning and every hour in the afternoon. Journey time is a good 10 minutes. The building of a beachfront promenade is causing major works in front of the Riu Tikida Beach, which is located on the seafront: trucks and other vehicles work non-stop from 7am to 6pm. You have to look for the path that allows access to the beach avoiding the cuttings (February 2008). The promenade was completed in June 2008. The beach at the Tikida Beach is usually spacious and peaceful. Deck chairs, mattresses, parasols and towels are provided free of charge to clients of the club. It is also possible to partake in various water activities such as catamaran trips, sailing and windsurfing (for an additional charge). Here as elsewhere in the bay, the sand on the almost perfectly level beach is fine, golden and regularly cleaned by the city authorities. Be careful, though, as it often gets windy in the evening.
