In Kemi, Sampo welcomes you and allows you to experience an unusual experience. This imposing icebreaker applies pressure 100 times stronger than that of a normal ship. Thus, it can break ice up to 6.5 ft thick. In the Gulf of Botnia, 12 inches of ice accumulate in December and up to 35 inches in March, until the end of winter. Sampo has a capacity of 150 people and offers lunch onboard, followed by a quick digestive dip in the freezing waters.
