Kemi is located in the heart of Finland, 72 miles east of Rovaniemi, on the seafront, in the Gulf of Botnia. This small country town, with no real architectural charm, is interesting for the landscapes that border it and the activities the town offers. In winter, right from the first drops in temperature, the sea freezes and changes the environment. You cannot reach the islands by boat anymore, you have to use a snowbike. Kemi is in a setting different to any other, with an invigorating feeling to the place and a peaceful lifestyle. There is backcountry skiing on natural sea ice, a cruise on an icebreaker ship, snowbiking, dog or reindeer sled rides and a night in the snow castle, a great selection of unusual activities.
