Santa Claus' Village

Santa Claus' Village Santa Claus' Village Martin Siepmann/ age fotostock

All the children know it, Santa Claus lives in Finland and more precisely in the Rovaniemi region. Santa Claus' village is obviously very animated during the end-of-the-year season and constitutes an unmissable site to visit for Finnish children but also for many tourists. After being entirely destroyed in 1944 by the German Army, Rovaniemi has pleasant town-planning, designed by Alvar Aalto. Considered as Lapland's capital city, Rovaniemi is located at the confluence of the region's two largest rivers, and has a superb museum dedicated to the Arctic.
