The Gulf of Botnia Sea freezes during the long winter months. The formed ice is sufficiently thick to drive on without having any problems. Thus, snowbiking becomes a tourist and very popular leisure activity. It is on a snow desert that you can go from one island to another, travelling along small forest trails and coming across deer. Many snow safaris are offered in Kemi, it is up to you how long it lasts for, it can range from half a day to 8 days for the strongest.
