History

Clickair is a young company within the world of airlines.

Founded in 2006, Clickair has followed Ryanair and easyJet in that it is a budget airline.

The company headquarters are in Barcelona, in El Prat de Llobregat. Clickair belongs to Iberia which owns 20% of the shares. In total the airline owns 23 Airbus A320s.

In 2009 Clickair serves 41 destinations, almost all within Europe, 16 of which are Spanish cities.

Alliances

In July 2008, Clickair and Vueling, other low-cost carrier also based in El Prat, Barcelona's main airport, also announced a fusion in the next few months in order to fight against the rising costs of fuel in an extremely competitive environment with Ryanair and easyJet offering lower prices despite rising fuel costs.

At the time of writing, the fusion has been validated by the European Union.

There are several forums dedicated to travel that speak of the lack of professionalism of Clickair's customer service department.
