Vueling was established in 2004, when they launched their first flight between Barcelona and Ibiza.
Like the airline Clickair, Vueling uses the Airbus A320, and possesses a fleet of around 30 aircraft. Vueling flies exclusively in Western Europe, serving 25 destinations in Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Greece, Netherlands and Belgium.
In 2008, Vueling and lost cost Iberian airline Clickair announced plans to merge. The merge took place at the beginning of 2009.
This strategic decision was designed to counter rising oil prices, and create an alliance better armed to fight against rival airlines Ryanair and Easyjet.
This merge has now been validated by the boards of both companies, and authorised by the European Union.
Vueling runs a loyalty program called Punto, which has the advantage that it does not require a card to collect points. Clients can access their personal account online.
All you need to create an account is an email address. Points can also be acquired when renting a car via Vueling's website.
Vueling passengers are able to check in online and print their boarding pass from home.
Hand baggage is limited to 10kg per person. More information can be found on www.vueling.com.
