There, you can fly over the hedgerows at speeds of up to 16 mph in a paramotor (an introductory lesson is provided, of course) or climb aboard a hot air balloon to be wafted along gently in the breeze.
Discovering the landscapes from the air gives a unique view of Avesnois, which looks even more beautiful from above.
For the most fearless visitors, the leisure aerodrome at Salmague (near Maubeuge) provides flying lessons for budding pilots and the possibility of tandem parachute jumps.
