The hedged land, forest and wetlands of Avesnois Nature Park form a rich natural space that is a perfect habitat for many types of mammals, fish, amphibians and nesting and migratory birds. You should therefore not be surprised to hear the call of the yellow-eyed little owl or spot the great crested newt with its white dotted sides.
The park's natural diversity also provides many habitats for local plant-life, including the 90 threatened or protected plant species listed on the park's territory, including hawthorn, bluebells and meadowsweet.
