Corte is worth seeing for its spectacular location, bordering the mountains of the Regional Natural Park of Corsica. The best views can be enjoyed from the patrol paths around the old château. From there, head back towards the citadel that overlooks the Old Town, and then on to the Palais National, a former Genoese palace which was home to the Paoli government in the 18th Century. End your stroll with a visit to the Church of the Annunciation, which sits just below the palace.
