Fishing in the Aisne region

Fishing in the Aisne region

The Aisne has some 373 mi of first-category watercourses, 1,553 mi of second-category watercourses and 284 acres of reservoir which are home to trout, roach, zander, catfish and various other water-dwelling creatures, making this a fisherman's paradise!

Rollequin mill: with its 9 lakes spanning over 7 acres, its reach and its wild waters, Rollequin mill gives fans of the sport the chance to practice many different types of fishing in natural, lush green surroundings. With plenty of carp, white fish, trout and various carnivores to fish, the hardest part is sure to be carrying all the equipment!

The Domaine de la Vallée: this lake is a former Oise River alluvial deposit farm, which explains its rather unusual scale (124 acres and over a mile in length).
With its various large bodies of water (which are covered in water lilies in the summer), its breaks and trenches (of a maximum of 13 ft), the Domaine de la Vallée attracts a strong natural population of pike, zander and perch, as well as plenty of perfectly decent-sized carp (the record at this site is 25kg!).

Domaine Le Roseau: this 27-acre property is home to five ponds (the largest of which spans some 12 acres), all of which are exclusively reserved for carp fishing.

Coelacanthe fishing village: as its name suggests, this site is entirely dedicated to fishing. With two ponds, 42 acres of water and 14 single and double stations specially designed for carp, catfish and sturgeon fishing, you're hardly likely to get your line tangled up in your neighbour's!
Pike, zander and roach can also be found in abundance around these fishing stations, as well as trout, since over an acre of the water here has been set aside specifically for them.
