A real living memory of Brittany, the purpose of the museum is to present and explain the Breton heritage through a permanent exhibition which reveals the history of this region, from the Paleolithic to the Contemporary period.
The collections presented are as rich and varied as the Breton subject itself: prehistory, protohistory, Gallo-Roman archaeology, Medieval and Contemporary history.
Ethnology makes up part of the exhibit as well, with the presentation of Breton costumes, hairstyles, housing, furniture and utensils from different periods.
