This is the most visited flagship site in Brittany. Here, you witness the permanent confrontation between land and sea. Paradoxically, by going up to the rocky peak of the pointe du Van you can better see the pointe du Raz, which is a lot less touristy than its big sister and just as beautiful. The stunning landscape of the peak opens on to a panoramic view which is just as spectacular. In a single glance, you will be able to see the Baie des Trépassés (The Bay of the Departed), Raz, Tevennec-Island and Sein Island. A landscape of wasteland and heather in the past, the Pointe du Raz was victim of its success. The growing number of tourists and the absence of a preservation policy have led to a deterioration of the site over several years. Aware of this problem, the Conservatoire du littoral (Coastal protection agency) made the rehabilitation of the Pointe du Raz one of its most major projects of the last few years. A project in which the state, the region, the department, the patrons of the arts and Europe are all involved in contributing to the work.
