One thing's for sure, Picardie certainly has plenty to offer fish-lovers!
Menus feature sole, shrimp and eel (which is served smoked or in a pie, and can be found in many a local recipe) direct from the Channel, along with more earthy dishes such as duck paté, rabbit served with prunes or perhaps 'ficelle picarde', literally 'Picardie parcel' (a crêpe served with a slice of ham and a mushroom sauce).
Foodies with a sweet tooth will no doubt enjoy the must-try after-dinner delights commonly served here, such as the macaroons, Amiens fine chocolate biscuits and poppies (made using cocoa beans flavoured with poppy liqueur).
