French Polynesia has a tropical oceanic climate, hot and humid, with temperatures varying from 24°C to 27°C. Strong trade winds, blowing more or less all year long, cause occasional showers. During hot season, from November to March, the humidity rate reaches almost 100%! From December to January, warm rains sometimes persist for several consecutive weeks. Favour the dry season which starts in April; it is sunny in the day time and cool at night thanks to the mountain wind. May-June and September-October are the two best times to visit.
