Moorea - Opunohu Bay

Moorea - Opunohu Bay Moorea - Opunohu Bay In the background, you can make out the tall silhouette of Mount Tohiea, the highest point of the island and dominating the scenery. Ralph Braumer / age fotostock;

Opunohu Bay, overlooked by Mount Tohiea, the highest peak of the island (3,960 ft), is Moorea's largest open water expanse. At the far end of the bay, a small road on the mountain side leads up to the Belvedere, certainly one of the most beautiful sites in the whole of Polynesia. The panorama is exceptional!
