On the east coast of Tahiti Nui, scuba divers will encounter remarkable coral depths around the Teaauroa, Faratahi and Teauraa reefs, located past Uturaufea. Other unmissable sites include the Trou du Souffleur, one of the most beautiful sights on this rocky coast which displays basalt flows making their way to the sea; the idyllic Faarumai waterfalls (don't forget your anti-mosquito lotion!); Venus Point and Matavai Bay lined by a superb black sand beach and Taharaa Point, a remarkable promontory looking out over the volcano, the mountain side, and onto the barrier reef.
