Since you cannot go and visit the charming town of Soukhoumi due to security reasons, you will have to be content with visiting Batoumi. It is a seaside resort on the Turkish border, with a strong Muslim influence, as the 19th century mosque and hammam illustrate. The charm of the town also comes from its tropical and mountainous environment. Make a note to see the town's delphinarium.
