Flora

Flora

Georgia has many parks and natural reserves that shelter a wide range of plant species. Among them, Borjomi (the eastern reserve), Kharagauli National Park or the Eroutcheti protected site. With the climate and relief differing from one region to another, the flora has adapted itself and varies depending on the environment. This is why you can see hardwood forests composed of chestnuts, oaks, beeches and maple trees, as well as mixed and conifer forests, at high altitude. On the Black Sea coastline, you will mostly see exotic plants. Georgia is also the kingdom of mushrooms. Over 6,300 varieties are said to have been identified in the country.
