Georgia is a country that is rich in cultural and historical heritage and is home to plenty of original and interesting monuments. You can discover round structures with cone-shaped or flat roofs. Go on a tour of the old caves that were once inhabited but also of the caves near Gori, which have been turned into lodgings and public buildings.
There are many monasteries and churches in Georgia that show off the exceptional architecture of the Middle Ages. The churches are rife with frescoes that teach visitors about historical figures.
The region of Javakheti is home to one of the most majestic sites in all of Georgia: the Khertvisi Fortress. As for Mtskheta, the ancient capital of the kingdom of Georgia, its historical monuments have been placed on UNESCO's List of World Heritage in Danger.
