The grounds of Stuttgart's castle Castle square (Schlossplatz) is one of Stuttgart's tourist attractions. Andreas Scholz / age fotostock
If you go to Stuttgart, the capital of the Land (State) of Baden-Württemberg, visit one of the automobile factories, or rather one of their museums for which the city is known. Gottfried Daimler, inventor of the engine, and the Mercedes and Porsche automobile groups have left their marks here. Cannstatter Wasen is a huge festival area where the annual three-week Cannstatter Volksfest takes place after Oktoberfest.
You will have a pleasant day if, following the advice of Johann Wolfgang Goethe, you take the opportunity to admire Stuttgart from the top of its 217m-high Fernsehturm (television tower). From the top of this emblematic tower you will have a splendid view of the city with its parks and lakes, the Oberer Schlossgarten and the Neckar river.
