The Black Forest ranks amongst the most beautiful forests in the country. To the north, take the Wine road of the Baden country that runs across vineyards, orchards and charming villages. To discover the vast coniferous forests, use the Crest road linking Baden-Baden to Freudenstadt. The Kinzig with its thick forests is one of the loveliest sites of the central Black Forest - worth visiting on foot or mountain bike. The River Kinzig forms numerous idyllic valleys with streams full of trout. Here, you will still find old typical water mills and hundred-year-old farms. Also, make a note to visit the eco-museum of the Black Forest in the Gutach Valley. With its snowy mountains and large forests of fir trees interspersed with lush valleys hugged by old farms along gorges and streams, the Upper Black Forest offers and immense natural environment. The area is lined with sports grounds (skiing and hiking), such as the Feldberg, which is the highest summit in the region. To the south, you can visit the Wutach Valley which is classified a natural park, with its gorges, imposing rocky walls and its particularly rich variety of fauna and flora.
