There are more than 70 castles along the Castle Road linking Mannheim to Prague. It runs through the charming countryside of the Neckar valley, the Hohenlohe, Frankenhahe and Franconian Swiss provinces. It goes via the sites of Heidelberg, Rothenburg ob der Taug, Nurmeberg, Bayreuth or Bamberg. Besides the castles, this road is lined with numerous footsteps of the past: medieval cities, religious edifices of all eras and other cultural sites.
