Climate Crete
Climate and Seasons
The climate is Mediterranean (though you could have guessed that). Summers are hot and dry, but fresher than on the continent. The temperature differences are due to the north wind, the Meltemi, that blows fiercely, especially on the south coast. The relatively gentle winters, are accompanied by sparse rainfalls. From November to March the temperatures vary from 12 to 16°C, and from 16 to 28°C, between March and October.
