The National Archaeological Museum has fabulous collections of sculptures, ceramics, and pottery of Ancient Greece, not to mention the other treasures there, such as the famous mask of Agamemnon, the Poseidon of Artemision and the Santorini frescoes.
The museum was given the items for its first collections in 1874.
This museum brings together five themes: prehistory, sculptures, bronze, ceramics, Egypt and the Near East.
The statue of the goddess Artemis is one of the symbols of the National Archaeological Museum in Athens.
These bronze and marble statues are located on the ground-floor of the building.
