Greenland gathers all of the fauna in the Arctic: whales, seals, walruses, musk deers, reindeers and polar bears. Greenland's waters are among the most productive in the world. There are about 200 different species of shellfish, sea shells and fish (cod-fish, salmon, halibut,...). Birds are very numerous in the coastal regions. As well as a few species of gulls and ducks (the most important being the eider), there are also bird colonies.
