Grand Etang Foresert Reserve, popular for its treks and hikes, presents all the diversity of the flora around the lake. Of course, this nautral milieu represents a perfect environment for fauna. In the woody parts, you can still see about twelve groups of Mona monkeys, a breed from West Africa and introduced in Grenada a couple of centuries ago. Armadillos, opossums and mongooses are also part of the setting. Ornithologists will have the pleasure of observing many bird species, for instance colibris, pelicans, eagles and hook-billed kites. Serpents present on the island are not poisonous, but there are some boas. No worries, they come out at night, and live at the top of the trees during the day. Therefore, you will have little chance to see one.
