Saint François is the second largest seaside resort on the island after
Le Gosier. It was developed in the 1970s, at the far end of the southern coast of Grande-Terre, facing the Atlantic ocean. At the marina : shops, entertainment and tourist restaurants. At the old port : moored fishing boats and small old fashioned wooden huts and roofs made from palm groves where punch is offered and lobster sauce is served at a very reasonable price.
Worth knowing: Saint-François has the only golf course of 18 holes in
Guadeloupe, designed by Robert Trent Jones.
