On Basse-terre, the three waterfalls of Carbet are a "must" when visiting Guadeloupe. The highest has to be seen for its torrential waterfall. It falls more than 393 ft. Located in the surroundings of St. Sauveur village, they are even mentioned in Christopher Columbus' journal who saw them from his ship.
